The breathtaking fourth installment of the New York Times bestselling Shadow Falls series from author C. C. Hunter...Whispers at Moonrise.

My Review:

“We all must pay a price for following our own paths. But... it's not always fair to ask others to pay that price."

Ah so many emotions! I'm still trying to settle through them. I finished this book a few minutes ago so I'm still trying to see how I'm going to write this review. Let me just start off by saying, WHY LUCAS?!? You have crushed my heart. This was such an awesome installment to the Shadow Falls series. I am surprised that the whole plot ending thing went by so fast! I wanted it to be more detailed. And why a cliff hanger? Ugh! I can't begin to explain how much I want the next book in my hands at this moment. I just want to read Chosen at Nightfall right now. I laughed so much through this book and cried a lot. I was in a whole emotional outburst through this book, I got some weird looks from my family. I loved this book!

- Kylie
I seriously love Kylie's character. She seemed very rude in this book than in the others, I know she was going through a lot but she had a pissy attitude which I found a little annoying. Other than that, her character is just amazing. I don't care that she finds herself weird, I find her so freaking badass. Just that she can do so much amazes me. I love seeing her powers grow through every single book.

- Lucas
AHH! You killed me. With those few pages, you have killed me. I just can't. I was growing onto Lucas, I have been so in love with Derek that in this book I was finally loving Lucas but I just can't believe that whole thing that just happened. I do wish there were a little more scenes with Lucas and I hated how he rarely made time to see her saying the whole "pack" thing. I got tired of it. He should have sat with her at lunch, told her he loved her. Boy you were too late!

- Derek
I did love Derek but in this book he just seemed like a really good friend. I remember in the other books how much more he was involved and even though there were a lot of scenes with him and her thoughts about him, I was just wanting more Lucas. I do love Derek, I think that he may have made a better boyfriend than Lucas but there are things about Lucas that just makes my heart melt.

- Holiday & Burnett & Della & Miranda
All very important characters that are just amazing. I love every single character in this book!

Overall, I think it is pretty obvious how much I loved this book. This is my favorite of the series so far and I am hoping to get the next book as soon as possible. That cliffhanger killed me as well as Lucas's betrayal. I need to know what happens! It did feel a little dull at times and I just skimmed through some pages but I found this book incredible

Frostfire by Amanda Hocking - Book Review

Title: Frostfire
Author: Amanda Hocking
Publication: January 6, 2015
Series: Kanin Chronicles #1
Format: Paperback
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥

Summary:

Bryn Aven is an outcast among the Kanin, the most powerful of the troll tribes.

Set apart by her heritage and her past, Bryn is a tracker who's determined to become a respected part of her world. She has just one goal: become a member of the elite King’s Guard to protect the royal family. She's not going to let anything stand in her way, not even a forbidden romance with her boss Ridley Dresden.

But all her plans for the future are put on hold when Konstantin– a fallen hero she once loved – begins kidnapping changelings. Bryn is sent in to help stop him, but will she lose her heart in the process?

My Review:

I won a copy of this through Goodreads Giveaways.

I really liked this book. I just recently found out this was a spinoff series so I am sure going to get onto the other series soon. Since I won this in a giveaway, I wasn't expecting much but I was happily surprised. I kept holding this book off but once I read the first chapter it all blew by in a breeze. It was such an easy book to read and I really enjoyed it.

- Bryn
I really liked Bryn's character. I was a little confused at first as to why she was different than most of the Kanins but it makes sense. I found it a little boring at times though, especially when she kept having to keep tabs on the changeling she rescued, the was pretty dull, I just wanted to skip through the pages. Bryn is a strong character and I love that she can protect herself and I was surprised on how much I loved her character.

- Ridley
I love Ridley. I love love him. I wish there were more romance scenes with him, I love him with Bryn. I don't understand why he considers himself old, he's like 24? I absolutely love Ridley's character, I can't wait for more from him in the next books.

- Konstantin
I don't know what to think about him. I believe there is a good side to him but what's going on? I felt like there was so much missing from this book. I wish there were more action scenes and a bigger plot in the ending. I felt that it ended way too soon than it needed to.

Overall, I did really enjoy this book a lot and I am excited for the next books in this series to come out. This book felt like a breeze for 319 pages, it went by super fast which I loved. This was a great book and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quick read and doesn't have anything at hand.

The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa - Book Review

Title: The Immortal Rules
Author: Julie Kagawa
Publication: April 24, 2012
Series: Blood of Eden #1
Format: Ebook
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥

Summary:

To survive in a ruined world, she must embrace the darkness…

Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a walled-in city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten. Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them—the vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself dies and becomes one of the monsters.

Forced to flee her city, Allie must pass for human as she joins a ragged group of pilgrims seeking a legend—a place that might have a cure for the disease that killed off most of civilization and created the rabids, the bloodthirsty creatures who threaten human and vampire alike. And soon Allie will have to decide what and who is worth dying for… again.

Enter Julie Kagawa's dark and twisted world as an unforgettable journey begins.

My Review:

"You will always be a monster, there is no turning back from it. But what type of monster you become is entirely up to you."

There might be a few spoilers.

I really enjoyed this book! I was expecting a lot from this book because I have loved the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa and couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. This story about vampires is so very unique and much more different than any other vampire book I have read. It did have its moments and boring me, I just wanted to get to more action through some scenes. My only complaint is that I wish there were a tad bit more romance. I am glad that there was this whole different thing going on without the romance but more than half the book, something could have happened.

- Allie
I loved Allie's character. I thought she was a little too harsh and she wasn't really getting on my good side. But she is such a strong character, you have to love her. She is ruthless but I honestly did expect a little more, I thought she would have been able to kill so many things with her training and how she used to live. I mean it was a little unrealistic to believe she can kill Jackal so fast but I thought it'd be cool. I was happy with Allie's character, I'm glad she doesn't have to rely on anyone else to look after her. She wasn't smart about a few things but she is a great female heroine.

- Jeb
I disliked Jeb the moment he became a part of the story. I didn't like the way he treated people, especially what he did to Zeke. I am just stunned with Jeb. I had a feeling something was up with him and even though he wasn't my favorite, I'm glad with it how ended with him.

- Kanin
I loved Kanin. After reading a few reviews of this book and reading that she was going to meet Zeke, I was disappointed. Since we met Kanin first, I didn't like the idea of her meeting someone else. I didn't like him leaving after a short period of time finally getting him. I felt that he was pulled from the story a little too fast. I hope he has more scenes in the next books. I still really like Zeke, but I would love it if she were with Kanin. Some people say it may be wrong because he is technically her "father" but I am overlooking that.

- Zeke
I did really like Zeke. I was a little disappointed with him and he acted towards her when her secret was let out. I thought he was going to be different and wouldn't care about it or try to overlook that. I am glad with how it ended but I still wish it were Kanin instead. Zeke was a great leader, he knew how to take charge. I loved how much he cares even if it is dangerous for him to care that much.

Overall, I thought this was a great book and I can't wait to reach the next one. The ending was a bit of a cliff hanger, thankfully the other two books are in my library so I can get to them as soon as possible. Julie has this amazing way of creating such a unique world that lets you escape. I have high hopes for the next books in this series.
